Tuition

Ladbroke Art Group

My regular classes at Ladbroke Village Hall in Southam, Warwickshire, resumed in September after the Covid restrictions lifted.

We meet every other Friday 7-9pm. This term we have been focussing on tonal values and colour theory, and mainly worked with charcoal and acrylic. Next term we will continue and recap our work on tone, plus drawing skills, and proportional work in the context of portraits and figures.

Students do not have to participate in the demonstrations (which I do at the start of the sessions) or planned activities; they are welcome to instead work on their own projects in their chosen medium if they wish. After the demonstration, I then help and teach everyone individually as per their requirements.

Other Teaching

I am also available to teach in a number of capacities including: to art groups for demonstrations and workshops, in schools, and tutoring art groups on a more regular basis.  If you’d like to enquire about tuition for you, your school, or your art group then please contact me through the contact page on this site or email: smiles-art@outlook. com. See below for more information.

Demonstrations

KAG SMiles dem 010

I demonstrate my process for creating pieces, and model new techniques that I have discovered though my own explorations and experiments when asked, to art groups.  Usually these demonstrations last around 2 and a half hours with a short break half way through.  Typically the demonstrations cost £150.  Please contact me for further information if you think your art group would be interested.

Workshops

There are currently no workshops that I am personally running, but if you have a subject in mind that you would like me to deliver, then please feel free to ask. 6 hour workshops for art groups cost around £250.

Schools

collage

I am a fully qualified Primary School teacher and taught full time for four years.  When I teach as an artist, I plan and deliver art projects with the children, from lessons in mastering art techniques and colour theory to challenging projects such as large installations created by the children for the school.  So far these large projects have included: sculpture, making tiles, hanging pieces, and murals.  If your school could be interested in me working with them, please pass on my details or contact me via the contact page. Currently I occasionally deliver workshops at The Mill Arts Centre to children.
